Episode Fifteen (15) – “Hard Truth”

“If it’s about the covenant, I already know everything about it” She said to my surprise.

“Granny, how, how did you know” I asked. That was supposed to be Kobby and I little secret.

How on earth would she have known. It wasn’t that she was even living with us.

I’m guessing if grandma knows then my parent may also know and Ms Benson as well.

As all these possibilities ran through my mind, I began to shiver because of the consequences.

“Calm down my daughter. I only got to know when the infection got serious” She said

“What infection Granny. What is it?” I asked.

“Hmm Do you know why you are not safe here? “ she asked

As she asked this questions. I began to tremble. My heart began beating fast. There was something wrong. I was realizing it.

“No, please tell me” I pleaded.

“After your secret covenant, Kobby became really sick and eventually was sent to the hospital. Apparently, the sharp object both of you used for the pact got Kobby infected.
Upon interrogation, Kobby finally said the truth about what you two did. Trust me, it took his mother a whole lot before he could get Kobby to speak up. That was when you were brought me because Ms. Benson blames you for what was happened to her son.”

My face dropped. My eyes became teary. I couldn’t believe what my Granny was saying. I was getting hurt. The truth was now getting heavy on me.

“I understand, you see Kobby almost all the time. It’s very normal because he is with you, and loves you very much, but what you see is not Kobby in flesh. Kobby died out of the infection “ Grandmother spoke the hard truth.

Then everything started making sense to me.

“I know this is hard to take. Because of your special condition, you are hyper sensitive. So I understand how you feel and how you react to situations like this. All bipolar people have different and unique way of reacting to situations surrounding them” She continued.

Tears came down from my cheeks. I began to sob bitterly. My tears was enough to make Grandma cry too. She embraced me and patted my back gently.

“Cry it all out my love. Everything is going to be fine” She said.

Kobby was really dead and I just couldn’t believe it. It was hard for me to take it.

“Granny… “ I called her in a soft weeping voice.

“Yes my daughter” She responded.

“Anytime, I see Kobby. He tells me to inform his mother, that he wants to drink water and sleep” I said.

Suddenly, my Grandmother stared at me in the eyes.

“This is no joke my daughter. Kobby is not a peace. His mother needs to hear this” Grandmother said.
