Episode Thirteen (13) – “Crazy Checklist”

All this while Kobby was still there. He didn’t go this time around, he was there yet my parents and grandmother couldn’t see him.

I knew I wasn’t safe at the hands of my parents and grandmother. With this three, I knew they can easily over power me.

Then I called unto Kobby who was standing right there unnoticed.

“Kobby, they are coming to hurt me. Kobby save me. “ I said.

But my Kobby stood there and watched on.

“You see how bad her condition is now, let’s tie her up” My father said.

I was surprised when my grandmother rebuked him.

“I told you, the only way to get this under control is to be in her shoes” my grandmother said. “Not to tie her up.”

I felt comfortable when I heard her say that, maybe I was wrong about her also. As for my dad and mother, they are surely going to be on my crazy list along with Ms. Benson.

“Leave me with her” My grandmother instructed.

“But…” My mother wanted to speak out but was stopped by grandmother.

“I don’t want to hear anything. Don’t say a word. Just leave her with me” she said and quickly my parents left the room for us.

Kobby was still there watching on as all this happened. I don’t even know if they actually saw and ignored him. I just couldn’t tell.

My grandmother came close and sat on the bed right beside me. I pushed away a little. Just a little. I wasn’t feeling comfortable with her.

“Aww my poor child, what have they done to you. I’m sorry” that was the first thing she said.

I ignored her and looked away. My eyes was now fixed on Kobby. He looked back at me. I love the way he was looking at me in the face. Then I smiled to him.

My grandmother noticed how I was smiling at something she was yet to figure out.

“Look at how beautiful you look. Your smile is very beautiful” she said.

That got my attention.

“Really” I said

“Oh yes my daughter” she responded.

“Do you think Kobby likes it” I asked.

“Oh I see, so you’re smiling because of him.” she asked

“Yes grandmother, you should meet him. – Kobby this is grandma” I said trying to introduce Kobby to my Grandmother but he just stood there.

“That can wait Lust, can you tell Kobby to excuse us I have something to discuss with you” She said.

Before she could end her statement Kobby was already gone. I didn’t even notice how he left. I’m sure he must have heard what grandmother was saying.

Suddenly, I felt safe with Grandmother. I knew from that moment, she was the only one I can talk to. Maybe I should tell her about Kobby’s message.

Yes! That’s a good idea. She can do that for me without me getting to meet Ms. Benson.
