Episode Six (6) – “Cry Baby”

I freaked out. He was standing right beside the bed. How possible?

“How ho…. You … I thought you jumped out of the window” I said while fumbling with my own words.

“”I hid beneath the bed, that was the safest place I could be” He answered

“But …. “ I said but got interrupted.

“Lust, I have to go but there’s something I need you to do for me” He said.

As much as I was confused about how he claimed he ended up beneath my bed, his words still baffles me. That space was too tiny for anyone to fit in!

I intended to find out more but some how, he was able to change the topic.

“What do you want me to do” I asked.

“Tell my mum, I want to sleep. I need water” He Said.

What does he mean by that? He must be crazy too. No No no – there’s no way I’m adding the love of my life to my crazy checklist. Kobby won’t be on it.

Now I was thinking I didn’t hear him well. Is my Kobby a cry baby or what? At his age, he still call his mother to put him to bed? And why must I be the one to tell his mother? There’s no way I’m going to do that. I hate coming into contact with that woman.

All this kept running through my mind as I stood there watching Kobby. Today is his birthday, and I’m supposed to be his gift and that’s the bed right there – let’s do it already.

“Kobby” I called “Happy Birthday, can I at least get a hug”

“No no, you must to do what I’ve told you. I need to go now” Kobby said.

For the first time, I couldn’t believe my Kobby was trying to push me away. This is so unusual of him.

I know him to be sweet, caring and loving. He always comfort me but why is he acting so weird now? Am I the problem?

“Kobby, why are you doing this to me. You’re tearing me apart” I said, I could literally feel tears coming down from my eyes.

“I’m sorry Lust.” Kobby said “You don’t understand. I’m running out of time”

“Then tell me what’s going on, are you trying to break up with me or what? Is it because I spoilt your window” I asked.

I couldn’t stand the thought of loosing the love of my life. He is my first love. I dream of us getting married and having babies. There’s no way I can live without him. No way.

I guess I’m now the cry baby!!!

“I’ll explain this later Lust. Tell my mum, I need to sleep, I want water” he repeated it.

“What do you mean by that Kobby? Can’t you sleep without your mother? And I have water right here, you don’t need to ask your mother” I said and quickly turned towards my bedside-fridge.

I opened it and took a bottle of water out of the fridge to give to Kobby. However, just when I turned around to hand over the water to him, he was no where to be found.
